Skin OS ™ was founded in 2015 by Gretchen E. Wobensmith, a skin expert with over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry. Gretchen has been featured on Good Morning America and Birchbox TV, as well as various training and industry videos and marketing materials. Gretchen’s focus from the moment she stepped in the treatment room was to provide her clients with results oriented treatments as well as clear and concise education on how to obtain their goals for healthy skin.
This passion for education drove Gretchen into training for the skin care industry where she has worked with, developed curriculum, led teams and traveled internationally for professional brands like Dermalogica and L’Oreal and Rilastil. This allowed Gretchen to develop a keen sense of the industry while simultaneously coaching skin care providers and guiding them towards success in their own businesses.
Throughout the years she spent training both professionals and consumers – and as technology continued to progress - Gretchen saw a gap between what was available and how that technology could be used on a regular basis. Consumers simply had no idea how to integrate these devices into their skin care regimen. Noting the existing disconnect – and the serious potential benefits available – she began developing advanced technology that not only provided the end user with effective treatments, but also provided real time feedback with milestones and guided education.
To achieve that objective, Gretchen teamed up with Peter E. Raymond, who heads up technology for Skin OS ™ Peter is the strategist and creative technologist behindSkin OS ™. He has worked across education, environment, technology, renewable energy, healthcare, media, agriculture, transportation, big data, and finance sectors. He is an expert in IoT (Internet of Things), adaptive education and emerging technology. In 2016 he was named an IBM Platinum Global Entrepreneur for his work in Cognitive/AI and IoT. His work has been featured in: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Wired, Smithsonian, Forbes, Popular Science, PBS, Financial Times, Fast Company, Bloomberg and The New Scientist. Peter has also appeared on the ABC and CBS Nightly News programs.
Peter’s insights and innovation strategies have resulted in socially conscious technologies and products for Fortune 500 companies, startups and nonprofits such as The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The City of NY, Nissan, WeWork, Viacom, ESPN, IKEA, Tom Ford, Astra-Zeneca, AIG, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dalai Lama Fellows, Biogen Idec, Boehringer Ingelheim, IBM, SETI, Microsoft, Nokia, NAACP, Drum Major Institute, and the Baseball Hall of Fame.
For 7 years Apple featured on the Apple Professional Healthcare section of the site highlighting Peter for developing the world’s first biometric AI and clinically accurate Heart Failure simulation for clinicians. This simulation led to groundbreaking innovations in connected sensors, VR, AI and wearable technology.
Together, Gretchen and Peter have merged a keen sense of technology with skin care health, making Skin OS ™ a true innovation in the health and beauty space.
